as i type, i'm glancing out the window. today, we are scheduled to go hiking with friends. a thunderstorm is predicted right as we will be hitting the trail. what's the phrase? "we make plans and God laughs"
technology and the accumulated wisdom of centuries gives us the false illusion that we can control, predict, chart the course of the future.
"then the rains come and wash away the foundation"
unknown disease takes away health
unexpected bills eat up all the savings
quarrels and differences melt away relationships
what is left?
"but those who are built upon the Rock will be saved"
the foundation holds
the seeds buried in the soil get watered
new life sprouts up
we begin again
